Pompeian is everything because of its craftsmen.
From cleaning and pressing hundreds of thousands of olives a day to maintaining operations at our mills, our passionate people have honed and perfected their craft over many years, working together as a community to cultivate the finest olive oil in the world.
Our hands-on (and nose-forward) approach ensures that every olive that goes into a bottle of Pompeian is picked at the very peak of freshness and pressed at state-of-the-art mills, under the careful eyes of our master tasters and blenders. Thanks to their efforts overseeing every step of this ancient craft, you can be sure that every bottle of Pompeian will deliver the taste and quality to help you Eat and Live Well.
We firmly believe in farm-to-table olive oil. All farmer-crafted Pompeian EVOO is “First Cold Pressed,” which involves taking our freshly picked olives to the mill, where huge stone wheels or a stainless steel crusher grind the olive flesh and pits into a smooth, homogeneous paste at a low temperature to preserve the quality of the olive oil, thus releasing a mixture of oil and water when pressed. The water is removed by centrifugal force, yielding a fresh, authentic EVOO. Because the oil is of the highest quality and a natural “juice of olives,” it's enhanced only by filtering in order to remove residual moisture and unwanted small particles of olive flesh or pit.
“Using the senses of smell and taste, I test the olive oil coming from our farms to ensure that every bottle of Pompeian olive oil delivers the same taste and quality that you’ve come to expect.”
Carlotta, Master Taster,
Italy

Within our world-class bottling facilities, our craftsmen regularly conduct sensory testing of all of our extra virgin olive oil to ensure our select line of offerings is always of the finest quality.
Pompeian olive oils carry the Non-GMO Project Verified Seal and the North American Olive Oil Association (NAOOA) Seal. NAOOA conducts the nation’s most exhaustive olive oil tests in the United States, purchasing olive oil from various supermarkets several times a year to ensure they meet the high standard of quality established by the International Olive Council (IOC).
Additionally, Pompeian has achieved two certifications from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) – ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. ISO 9001 certifies that Pompeian has implemented an effective quality process to consistently provide products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. ISO 14001 ensures that we have an environmental management system in place to efficiently utilize resources and reduce waste. Both certifications outline international standards which align with our commitment to deliver quality olive oil while supporting the environment.
A number of Pompeian Olive Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil varieties have also been certified by the American Heart Association to carry its heart-check mark as a heart healthy food. When enjoyed as part of a balanced diet, evidence shows that consuming 2 tablespoons (23 grams) of olive oil daily, in place of other saturated fats, while not increasing total calorie consumption, may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease thanks to olive oil’s monounsaturated fats.
We’re confident we’ll earn your seal of approval right after your first taste of Pompeian. So go ahead, drizzle, dab or dunk. In other words, let’s eat!
*Limited and not conclusive scientific evidence suggests that eating about 2 tablespoons (23 grams) of olive oil daily may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease due to the monounsaturated fat in olive oil. To achieve this possible benefit, olive oil is to replace a similar amount of saturated fat and not increase the total number of calories you eat in a day. One serving of this product contains 13.6 grams of olive oil. Heart-Check certification does not apply to recipes or suggested uses unless expressly stated.
